Product Information

Gengigel is a biological mouth and gum-care gel, and mouthrinse based on hyaluronic acid, providing active protection from gum disease and support for the natural healing of inflamed and damaged tissue in the mouth.

After tooth decay, the second most frequent disorder within the mouth is inflammation of the gingiva (gums) and the periodontium (the tissue that surrounds and supports the teeth). Gum disease is often not diagnosed early enough because, in contrast to tooth decay, tooth ache and pain do not occur so early. Experts estimate that 95% of adults in the UK suffer from some form of gum disease, but only 10% have serious problems.
What causes gum disease?

Gum disease (periodontal disease) is an infection of the gums and bone caused by plaque, a sticky film of bacteria that adheres to teeth. Plaque forms constantly on teeth and can build up if it is not removed through daily cleaning. The bacteria in plaque produce toxins, or poisons, that can irritate your gums. In the early stages of gum disease, called gingivitis, gums may swell, turn red and bleed easily. Eventually, inflammation can cause the tissues to separate from the teeth to form deepened spaces, called periodontal pockets. If left untreated, the disease can progress to the bone. In later stages of the disease, called periodontitis, the bone and soft tissue that support the teeth can be destroyed. This can cause the teeth to become loose, develop abcesses, fall out, or they may have to be removed by a dentist.

The new product in Oral Hygiene

Gengigel contains hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the connective tissues of the body. When applied to gums, it stimulates the production of healthy new tissue.

In trials at the University of Rostock in Germany, scientists found it can boost tissue healing by up to a half, increase blood supply and reduce inflammation.

Hyaluronic acid, the active agent in Gengigel, has been used for years by doctors to boost regrowth of connective tissue throughout the body.

Applying hylauronic acid as a gel or mouth rinse strengthens cell walls and gets cells to stick together. The tissue grows back faster, while being able to resist re-infection.

Gengigel can be used to assist with the treatment of the following: Gingivitis, Periodontitis, Receding Gums, Aphthous Ulcers, Lichen Planus, and after oral surgery.
